Most of us have been reluctant to read books at some time or other.School Libraries - Wasted?
A new report by the School Library Commission says that though school libraries have a special role in raising literacy levels and promoting reading for pleasure, in many schools the library is wasted. A good well-used library is important for a school's success.
But too often a library is not part of the school's development plan and almost a third of staff responsible for libraries have no specialist knowledge of children's literature. However, eight out of ten good readers use the school library - showing its central importance in all good schools.
So help your school library by buying from this book club!
